Universal Joint
A universal joint, or U-joint, is a mechanical device used to transmit rotary motion between two shafts that are not in a straight line. It allows for angular misalignment, making it essential in applications like drive shafts, PTOs, and steering systems. U-joints consist of a cross-shaped central piece with needle bearings at each end, providing flexibility and smooth rotation. They are commonly used in automotive, agricultural, and industrial machinery. Universal joints help reduce vibration, accommodate movement, and maintain torque transmission even under varying angles, ensuring efficient power delivery and long-lasting performance in demanding operating conditions.
