Roller Bearing

Roller bearings, also known as a rolling bearing, is a bearing which carries a load by placing rolling elements rollers between two bearing rings called races. The relative motion of the races causes the rolling elements to roll with very little rolling resistance and with little sliding. Roller bearing uses a shaft in a much larger hole, and cylinders called “rollers” firmly fill the space between the shaft and the hole. As the shaft turns, each roller acts as the logs and since the bearing is round, the rollers do not fall out from under the load. Different types of Roller bearings are

Ball Bearing

ball bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that uses balls to maintain the separation between the bearing races.

The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. It achieves this by using at least two races to contain the balls and transmit the loads through the balls. In most applications, one race is stationary and the other is attached to the rotating assembly (e.g., a hub or shaft). As one of the bearing races rotates it causes the balls to rotate as well. Because the balls are rolling they have a much lower coefficient of friction than if two flat surfaces were sliding against each other.

Insert Bearings

Insert bearings consists of an extended inner ring and a convex outer ring which enables quick and easy mounting. This allows the device to be mounted easily and effectively. These insert bearings are not self-centering and require additional bearing support for its proper function in most of the cases. Insert bearings are generally used for strong, heavy applications.

Adapter Sleeves

Adapter sleeves are the most commonly used components for locating bearings with a tapered bore onto a cylindrical seat as they can be used on: plain shafts or stepped shafts. They are easy to install and require no additional location on the shaft. When adapter sleeves are used on plain shafts, the bearing can be located at any position on the shaft. Bearings can be accurately positioned axially thereby facilitating bearing mounting and dismounting.
